Palmer Johnson Kicks Off Summer Fitness Challenge, Will Donate $1 for Each Pound Lost to JDRF

July 15, 2005

Palmer Johnson has launched the PJD Summer Fitness Challenge and will donate $1 for each pound lost to the Juvenille Diabetes Research Foundation.  This is a voluntary 3-month competition that runs the course of the summer and encourages PJD employees and their spouses to be more physically active and lose some weight.

Those that have chosen to participate have been separated into 4 teams.  Each team has a team color, team captain and a team name: The Diminishers, Gang Green, Heat Stroke and LittleTexOma.  2/3d’s through the competition and participants have lost almost 275 pounds and have burned 939,246 calories in activity!

In honor of the commitment that employees and their spouses have made to the Summer Fitness Challenge, Palmer Johnson will make a charitable donation of $1 for every pound lost by participants over the course of the competition.

When the challenge wraps up on August 28, 2005, PJD will tally up the total amount of pounds lost and will send a check for that amount to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
