Leading the way to hybrid diesel electric propulsion
With over $1.2 million in funding from the Department of Energy, the Mirage will be equipped with electric motors and a new reduction gear, aiming for around 20% fuel savings and reduced engine wear. While hybrid propulsion tech is still years from widespread adoption, ALFA's efforts, alongside energy consultant Chandler Kemp, are setting the groundwork for a more efficient and eco-friendly future for the fishing industry.
