Throughout 2018 Twin Disc is celebrating its 100th anniversary with a series of local, national and international events. The celebrations included the International Distributor Meeting and the opening of the Twin Disc Heritage Gallery. The gallery, which takes up roughly 4,000 square feet on the first floor of the Twin Disc corporate headquarters, provides visitors a chance to see how integral Twin Disc has been, both for Racine and the U.S., as well as the world, over the past 100 years.
During the International Distributor Meeting in September 2018, Bill and Craig Parsons were presented with an award recognizing 40 years of partnership as distributor between Palmer Johnson Power Systems and Twin Disc by John H. Batten, President and CEO of Twin Disc. While the award was recently presented, PJ actually surpassed 40 years in 2017, as noted on the award (1977-2017). Palmer Johnson Power Systems is proud to be a long-standing independent distributor of Twin Disc products.
When Palmer Johnson Power Systems spun off from super yacht manufacturer Palmer Johnson Yachts in 1977 (originally “Sturgeon Bay Boat Works”), Twin Disc was the first product line that Palmer Johnson Power Systems carried as a distributor. PJ originally started with a marine focus, and with time has diversified into different markets, added new locations, and added other product offerings. So, in 2017 PJ celebrated 40 years of business, and 40 years of partnership with Twin Disc.
